Quiet Calm by the Lake
A wonderful week in a great house. We didn't realize when we booked this trip that it would coincide with a hurricane. We escaped Florida 2 days after hurricane Ian hit our area. The time we spent at the lake and in Le Petite Chateau was such a welcome relief. The views from home's deck and boathouse are exceptional. It was great having access to two kayaks to be able to get out on the lake to enjoy the surroundings. The house had everything we could need for a great stay. That said I would not hesitate to rent the Le Petite Chateau again.

Great stay
We stayed over Labor Day weekend. The house was perfect for my wife and two small children downstairs and my in-laws upstairs. Deck downstairs was great for some meals and the view is awesome. Lots of stairs to the lake which can be difficult for the older folks. We really enjoyed the house and the lake.

We were able to stay for only one day, due to an air conditioning issue at home that required our presence.
Most of our day at Lake Lure involved getting the satellite Wi-Fi working (foliage had grown over the dish transponder). The Mr. Lake Lure rep was very attentive, and pursued the problem until it was resolved.

Stunning View!
Location/View: I literally cried when I first saw the view, and I cried when I had to leave- I think that says it all! I love that there are several spots around the property to sit and see the beautiful hills from different angles. I kayaked the entire perimeter of the lake, and Le Petite is definitely located in one of the most beautiful arms of Lake Lure. House: I love that Le Petite is what I call a “peek-a-boo” home, meaning that you can see great views of the lake, especially from the downstairs deck, but that you can’t see much of the house from the lake because it’s snuggled into the trees and private. The fact that Le Petite is basically two apartments that don't connect inside was perfect for my sister and I who loved being together during the day and then enjoyed having spaces to ourselves to wind down at night. I love that the house was a short gravel drive off the main road (I didn't want to park directly on the main road), and that the drive was not that steep- I have a front wheel drive Mazda CX-9 that did great, and my sister had a small rental car- a Kia Soul that didn't have as much acceleration, but did fine as well. I stayed in the top apartment and thought the furniture and beds were very comfortable. Activities: I love that 2 kayaks and various floats came with the house and that the kayaks already had permits to be on the lake. I kayaked the entire perimeter of the lake in 5 hours, and got stunning photos of The Sleeping Lady mountains from the water. My sister and I also enjoyed fantastic food and views at the Lake House Restaurant and also the narrated pontoon boat tour of the lake which was full of interesting information and friendly people. We also drove 35 min to Chimney Rock State Park and had a wonderful day of hiking (and strenuous). But honestly, I loved the views from the boat house so much that I just sat out there and read my book and took pictures for most of the day. Customer Service: The Happy Stays app was wonderful- very helpful information about the area and easy to use, and the Mr. Lake Lure staff was fantastic- called me a couple times on my long drive up to make sure I hadn’t gotten lost and that I could get into the house ok and asked if I needed anything. Their friendliness added to my enjoyment of the trip. Cried when I left. I hope to come back! Thank-you Le Petite Chauteau!

This House Has It All!
This house has it all! Beautifully located right on the lake, the house is extremely clean and well maintained. The separate apartments in one house makes it ideal for two couples or small families to share the house while still having your privacy. Local restaurants, grocery stores and activities are all within a few miles and the access to the boat house with floats and kayaks was awesome. Endless hot water, central air and TV made us feel right at home and we highly recommend this home to all.

Amazing View!
I really enjoyed our stay. It was very quiet and serene. You will not see your neighbors from the house. The only place you really see people around you is at the boat house. The unit is perfect for two traveling couples as each unit has a kitchen, living area, bathroom and bedroom. If you are sharing it with another couple the downstairs unit has direct access to the deck but the upstairs unit has a nicer shower. We used both units even though there were only two of us. The walk down to the boat dock wasn't bad at all. About 80 steps. We carried both our 10' kayaks down and up with no issues. I think the wifi could be improved with a newer router. Don't expect to do much via any internet services. I had to resend texts several times because service is pretty void out there (I have Verizon). There is cable however and it was honestly quite nice to be unplugged. I would suggest some curtains for the upstairs living area. Pot holders would be helpful as well. They provide a nice welcome basket with trash bags and dish soap that we ended up using as well. I would 100% stay here again.

Amazing view
This place has an amazing view! Breathtaking! We loved how this property sits down off the road. Privacy is everything! Check in was a breeze. The house was cozy and clean. The boat dock is great! Very peaceful. The sound of the rain water running off the mountain into the lake was soothing. We had a wonderful time here & would definitely come again!

Review for Le Petite Chateau - Mr. Lake Lure Vacation Rentals
The location was wonderful with amazing views of the lake. There were a lot of activities around the place and still the location was very quiet and peaceful. We had an amazing time during our stay. Property management team was very nice to talk to and were very helpful!

Amazing View
The view from the lower deck was fabulous even in the rain. We did not feel the steps to the boat house were as treacherous as previous reviews. They were wet but we felt they were easily walked with caution in the rain. Our only concern was the security light on the side of the driveway was not working, but we simply left outside lights on at night.

Cozy Home
Such a cozy home and loved how we didn’t have any neighbors that we could here! Will definitely be staying here again. The steps to the boat house are slippery when wet but aren’t to terribly bad going down. Everything we could possibly want was there, and the grocery store is right up the road.

Lake Lure Living
Absolutely beautiful waterfront living on Lake Lure. Home was comfortable, accommodations perfect. A big hike up from the lake, but excellent opportunity for exercise. Hoping to come back next year!

Quiet little lake house with great views and lake access
Great weekend getaway on the lake. It was clean and comfortable the entire weekend. Lake access was very close. You do have to be careful on the steps going down, some of them are slippery. Interest access was as expected. Plenty of room for a small family and everything worked as it should.

Excellent Getaway for Two
Fantastic house with superb views from the balcony. Also excellent boathouse with boathouse deck. Stairs to and from the boathouse are a challenge, both slippery and uneven. We very much enjoyed our stay, bottom floor is ideal for a couple.

Le petite Chateau
The house and view were beautiful. It was very relaxing and I would go back again. However, I could not get the dishwasher to work upon leaving, (sorry to the maid, the rental company is not open on Sunday and we were on a time restraint for departure.) Visitors be aware there is little to no cell service and the wifi is very slow, (this was ok with me).

Perfect Lake House
Lovely lake house, great for an extended family. View was great and the dock was perfect for swimming. Watch the steps down to the lake, as they are a bit slippery if it's wet.

Great Place right on the lake! Very private...super clean. The only thing that needs improvement is the stairs leading to the dock. Otherwise this house is a perfect lake retreat!

What a view!!!
We loved our Memorial Day weekend at Le Petite Chateau! It was spacious, well-stocked, very comfortable, and very clean. The layout worked great for two families vacationing together. There were quite a few STEEP stairs leading to the boathouse, but the view was so beautiful- every step was worth it!

Le petite chateau
Beautiful views! We loved the place! Very private! The only reason why we did not give it a 5 stars was because we brought our kayaks thinking we would be able to use them and we were not able to. The walk down to the boathouse was very steep with one person to carry and put in water it was just not possible. We should have brought the boat instead.
