Mallard's Retreat

Description

This quaint rustic cabin is perfect to unplug (no internet available) and get away from it all. Bring the dogs and kick back and relax in the spacious living room in front of the wood burning fireplace. Let the dogs run outside in the large fenced yard. Go for long walks around the community on the gravel roads or venture off the beaten path to the waterfall. Enjoy the private lake and beach area perfect to cool off during the hot days of summer.

Bring the charcoal and throw some burgers on the grill and enjoy the quiet. With two bedrooms, 1 double size bed and 1 full size this is a great escape for 2 couples, or family with children or just the 2 of you getting away from it all. The kitchen has stainless appliances and the necessities if you want to swing by the grocery store and not leave the comfort of your home during your stay.

PETS: This is a Dog friendly home there will be additional non-refundable pet fee listed. CATS ARE NOT ALLOWED
2 Adult Dogs are allowed with additional pet deposit of $60-$120. Dogs must not be left unattended or must be crated if left at home. Dogs are NOT allowed on the furniture; we ask that you please always pick up after you dogs and be mindful of the neighbors and keep your dogs on a leash.

The community of Riverbend is centrally located in Lake Lure so you are just minutes from Ziplining through the mountains or 15 minutes away from Chimney Rock State Park. An easy hours drive will put you back in the heart of downtown Asheville where you can enjoy the Biltmore Estate, outlet shopping and lots of antiquing.

Another great trip

The friendliest and most accommodating staff you could wish for. The house has a great starter kit and crates for dogs. The plus was the huge fenced yard , multiple porches and a surprise handicap bathroom. I’ll be back to Mr. Lake Lure properties!

Third straight year staying at Mallards Retreat in Riverbend. Love the pet friendly house and the huge fenced in yard! Love swimming and bringing our kayaks to the lake in Riverbend. They have a great little beach to soak up the sun!

relax and bring the dogs!
Since moving to FL our dogs have not been able to be in a fenced yard off leash. They loved being able to roam the yard and see the deer and other wildlife. Unfortunately it rained or I should say POURED the whole timed we were there so we weren't able to use the lake or do any hiking. It was great being able to sit in the screened porch and still feel like were we in nature. There were games and books in the home incase anyone got too bored. Everything we needed was in the home and we'd stay again...hoping we would pick a better weather week, LOL!

Very clean cabin and comfortable. Apparently the property had changed ownership recently and the previous owner had disconnected Direct TV and the new owner had not yet had that reconnected. Overall, it was a nice week although very hot.

Another Great Stay
My brother and his support dog and I have made this cabin at Lake Lure our home. We have visited 3 times and each time have had great adventures and a wonderful place to come and rest. Perfectly located within day trips around Ashville and many surrounding towns, we are able to see and do so much. This cabin provides us with all the amenities we need to be able to have a fun and cost saving vacation. We will be back again and again. Thanks Mr. Lake Lure

Had a great time at Mallards Landing for our getaway, house could use a little updating but all in all we had a great time. Plan on coming back to stay right on the lake in one of the other houses this summer. Customer service people were very professional when we spoke. Would recommend this company to others.

This place was absolutely amazing.The cabin was very clean.It was a nice quite location. I loved all the space out in yard and front porch! There is no WIFI but we had pretty good signal.We would definitely book with Mr.Lake Lure in the future.

Most relaxing vacation ever
Our stay at Mallards Landing was wonderful! Once we actually found the cabin it suited our needs perfectly. Would have been nice if the ice maker had worked bit other than that we had everything we needed for the perfect mother/daughter getaway we take at least once a year. We certainly intend to come again.

Mallard Landing
This cabin was absolutely perfect for me and my brother and his service dog. The location to places and activities was great. We had everything we needed in the cabin and it was very accessible for his wheelchair and his dog. The cabin was also easy to live in and provided all that we needed for a week. The lake near by and the swimming hole was great! Plus the hiking, zip lines, and sightseeing was near by. We will come again and stay at this cabin. It was so comfortable and casual. The only thing I would ask is to have a place to put our clothes or suitcases such as a luggage rack or stand otherwise I wouldn’t change a thing. Perfect stay! The cabin was very comfortable. The fenced in yard was great for the dog. The front bedroom mattress was very hard and uncomfortable. Also, with the back bedroom not having a closet a desk, dresser, or just a long table to use as a luggage rack would be helpful. We took 1of the end tables from the living room and placed it in the bedroom for that purpose.

Great stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin in Riverbend, Lake Lure. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We used the fire pit, grilled out 3 nights, enjoyed the screen porch and floated on rafts on the private lake in the community. The dogs liked the fenced in yard and we plan to come back sometime soon!

We had a great time in Lake Lure, The home was very nice quiet and fenced in yard was great for the dogs. I liked being in the woods, that was very nice, We saw a lot of deer no bear we watched for one !! lol Thank you for asking. Thank you for all your help

Mallard's Landing
Loved the cabin, very comfortable and cozy. Missing wifi, and a few basic kitchen items, but we enjoyed our stay regardless. We'll definitely be back!
