Inspired by the region’s film history, this home is complete with historic, local artifacts and packed with movie memorabilia. Fans will instantly recognize iconic details and hidden Easter eggs from the 1987 blockbuster film. This home is a must-visit destination for superfans, nostalgic travelers, and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Visitors will especially enjoy the family entertainment room, clad in the original barnwood siding preserved from the ballrooms of Dirty Dancing’s Kellerman's Mountain Lodge and Sheldrake Resorts.

Enjoy infinite views of the cliffs of Hickory Nut Gorge from our spacious outdoor decks. You’ll likely spot eagles gliding overhead and perhaps see deer or black bears frolic in the forest before you. These rocky cliffs are the ancestral home of the Cherokee and the setting for the 1992 film The Last of the Mohicans.

Located conveniently near the resort towns of Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, you can easily access various activities, including boating and horseback riding, just to name a few. Chimney Rock State Park is just minutes away.  Explore nearby hiking trails, then enjoy delicious food and drink at the various local restaurants. Comfort is assured for up to 8 guests in this newly constructed home. The primary suite, known as “The Chimney Rock Room”,  includes a slider door with access to the deck, where you’ll find gorgeous views of the forest and mountains.  This space offers a king-size bed, a walk-in closet, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom, called “The Lake Lure Room”, comes complete with a king-size bed, a closet with a full-length mirror, and just across the hall, you’ll find a full bath complete with a tub and shower. 

Both bedrooms offer blackout curtains and shades along with wall-mounted flat-screen, smart TVs. Off the kitchen, you’ll find carpeted stairs to the loft complete with a queen bed, comfortable sofa, and electric fireplace. Head downstairs to the finished basement, where you’ll find a giant sofa perfect for lounging.  Enjoy a movie on the 70” flat screen TV. Don’t miss the camp-inspired bunk area, including an XL twin over queen bunk bed and additional single twin bed. The foosball table is sure to entertain guests of all ages!  A 3rd bath with a shower is nearby and next to the laundry room with a full size washer and dryer.
